Taylor Pleasants Invited to USA Junior WNT Tryout

Conroe, TX – October 3rd, 2018 – Scrap Yard Internationals is proud to announce that infielder Taylor Pleasants has been invited to the 2019 Junior Women’s National Team Selection Trial! Taylor is a 2019 shortstop who has committed to play in purple and gold at LSU! Taylor is currently a senior at Dobie High School in Pasadena, TX and plays for the SI 18U team.

When asked about being invited to tryout with the best junior athletes in the world, Taylor said, “I’m honored, excited and blessed to have received such a prestigious invitation to the USA Junior WNT team trials! Playing for USA has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl! I couldn’t be more thankful to all the coaches who have helped me along the way!”

Scrap Yard Internationals 18U Head Coach, Connie May, wasn’t surprised by the invite of such a top-level player. Connie said, “To have an athlete so talented to be recognized by USA Softball is the best compliment a program can have! Congrats to Taylor! All of your Scrap Yard family is pulling for you!”

The tryout will take place on December 28, 2018 in Clearwater, Florida. Good luck, Taylor!

About Scrap Yard Internationals

The Scrap Yard Internationals experience is team focused. The 16U and 18U squads travel as a team on private buses and vans, and by air as needed. At home, all teams practice at the Scrap Yard Sports Complex in a safe and secure environment that includes 14 batting cages and 10 all-turf ballfields. This includes the Scrap Yard Stadium, home to the professional softball team, Scrap Yard Fast Pitch. In August of 2018, SI took their 18U an 16U squads to Tokyo, Japan for a week-long once-in-a-lifetime experience. The athletes played Tokyo Women’s College of Physical Education in a total of four games, experienced Japanese culture, and watched Team USA compete at World Championships in Chiba, Japan.
