Conroe, TX – July 29th, 2019 - Scrap Yard Fast Pitch is excited to announce the hiring of Bill Jones as Director of Player/Coach Training and Program Development!
Bill Jones brings decades of experience to Scrap Yard Fast Pitch as a player, as well as a coach. In recent years, his teams have finished in the top three at major national tournaments, including third place and second place finishes at PGF in 2018 and 2019 for his 16U teams.
Bill’s involvement in softball has always been a family affair! He has one daughter headed to LSU in the fall, and another who made it to the NCAA D1 Super Regionals with the University of Houston back in 2011.
Scrap Yard General Manager Connie May said, “Bill’s primary goal will be to further strengthen the Scrap Yard Fast Pitch organization by evaluating and training players, as well as by mentoring and developing coaches.”
Bill Jones added, “I am incredibly blessed to be joining such a great organization. Connie and I have been battling on the field for twenty years and I had the pleasure of working with Todd Leach at Sudden Impact for over five years. This organization has surrounded themselves with an incredible support staff, great coaches, and most importantly, are looking to build a culture for which I not only believe in but hold myself accountable to on and off the field. Quite frankly, I am going back to my roots and cannot wait to help develop players and coaches to reach their fullest potential in such a way that honors this sport through the grace and blessings of our Lord.”
